I know talking about the weather is usually standard ice-breaker stuff for
socially impaired corporate types but really, I WANT to talk about the weather!

It seems like New York has now become a regular destination for a few yearly
tempests that refuse to burn themselves out on the way up the coast. What’s up
with that? Not that we at Bonded are necessarily complaining since inclment
weather has a way of reminding folks that the musty smell in their basement
didn’t really go away… But overall we’d rather have normal rain than the kind
of category BAD storms the tri-state area has seen these last months. Indeed,
it’s not just our customers that are getting punished. When Irene hit in early
September, Bonded’s corporate offices in Berrgenfield NJ were out for over a
week. Then recovering data from our computer systems and replacing the fried
equipment took another month after that. All this while the phone was ringing
off the hook. It broke our hearts that we sometimes had absolutely no one to
help folks who were clearly in dire straights with their basements, but we were
working flat out for almost 3 months to keep up with the aftermath.
