Why is my basement wet?
Two kinds of water enter a basement: Surface and Ground. Surface water is runoff water, usually resulting from a heavy storm or blocked gutters. Groundwater comes from below as the water table builds up on top of the subsurface rock. (click here to see a diagram)
Is this problem serious?
Musty odors and dampness are early warning signs that foundation problems do exist. Actual seepage definitely represents a serious situation. An unattended problem continues to erode the foundation.
Can’t I just use a waterproofing sealant?
Coating the walls with a waterproofing sealant simply traps water inside the foundation wall. This is more damaging than letting the water pass through into the basement.
What happens if I delay service?
Personal belongings, furniture, dry wall, tiles, etc. will be ruined. Further, mold and mildew will grow and the foundation will continue to weaken.
How long does it take to install a system?
Typically, it takes just one day to install a Bonded Deep Pressure Relief System.
Do you work in crawl spaces?
Yes – as long as they are a minimum of 3 feet in height. |
